I would like to take this opportunity to everyone who has commented or faved my work over the last couple of months. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, my message box is well over a thousand and there's no way I can reply to everyone. So, that being said, I'm globally thanking everyone today and asking you to forgive me for not responding individually. For those of you who know me, you know this is a great departure for me, as I ALWAYS respond. But, I just can't do it. It started out as a lack of interest in graphics, my monitor conked out, then my grandmother passed away, then back-to-back surgeries for my wife.....Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a pity party, just letting you know it's been a busy few months. The monitor was recently upgraded and I was so happy and ready to start graphics again...then, the hard drive started to crap out.

But, it looks like I'll be back to some limited activity real soon and looking forward to catching up with old friends and meeting new ones along the way.

Talk to you all soon. God bless!

THANK YOU AGAIN!

Thanks for the compliment and glad to be of assistance. I think your skin looks great! Don't change a thing. Oops, my bad...I was looking at your dA profile! ;)

I'm only a little familiar with IMVU so before I can provide some suggestions, I've got a question:

In your images, the edges of the people look pretty "blocky" which gives me the impression they are gif images. Is that correct? I know your final product isn't a gif, but is the IMVU produced image a gif? If so, can IMVU put out other formats, like png? gifs can only handle limited transparency and 256 colors, which often results in a lower quality image.

Let me know and I'll see if I can be of help. Also, I haven't been real active due to computer problems, so it may take me a few days to get back with you.

Take care.

LOL yes thank you. and yes i understand if things that awhile. there is no need to hurry on a responce. i am just happy that you responded..heh.

i dont know what imvu is in LOL. i am not much help here..i just take a screen shot to do my art. i have found your feather blending to help me out alot to smooth some things out..but i am having alot more trouble with the complet image.. not just the edges. being a chat agent i have no idea how to mess with imvu. i am not a computer girl. lol least not outside my art. and silly gaming like wow and online rpgs ((i am soooo dorky ..please forgive me LOL)) imvu is far beyond what my knowledge goes. sorry i cannot offer you the info you need..LOL

i did have another question. as i know you had that snow animation...but i cant download gpa..or something..it never works after i download it. is there any site that offers the steps for snow in regular gimp? i would ask you to do it, however your a busy busy man i can tell from all the work you already do. and i hate to be a bother.!

thanks so much for help. and taking time to respond!

hugs from the horridly hot state of Fl,
Tammy

Hi, Tammy! I'm from Florida too, so I understand your "pain." :) I'll get back with you later about the IMVU stuff; haven't had much time to think about that.

As far as the snow animation...I do plan on making a script for it, but I have to get a decent computer first! There is a new GAP out there, but I haven't tried it yet, so I don't want to recommend it to you. However, download this tutorial: [link]

The steps are very similar, except you will not only have to duplicate the background layer many times, but you'll create a snow layer, offset it as described in the tutorial, THEN duplicate the offset layer. You'll now have two snow layers. On the first one, merge it together with your first background layer. The second one, place it above the next background layer and offset it the same number of steps. Then duplicate it. You'll now have two snow layers. Merge one with your next background and offset the second one. Keep doing this until you have all of your background layers covered.

Does that makes sense? If not, just drop me a line. I'm heading off to the beach today!

Cheers!

I posted the result of your tutorial "Flowing water", but instead of using Clouds filter I used Lava filter. But I post it on SWF file and is a short animation. I don't know how to make a longer animation.
Thanks again FP
