Artist's Comments

This is the final installment of the 3 Part series on creating brushes in GIMP. Part 1 can be found here: [link] and Part 2 can be found here: [link] The tutorials do not explain specific types of brushes (grunge, abstract, vector, etc.), but rather focus on GIMP's 2 formats: gbr and gih.

The tutorials are in htm format. Click on the Download to Desktop button, double-click the zip file, save the folder and htm file to a convenient location and double-click on the htm file to view the tutorial at your own pace.

Comments and questions are always welcome.

Enjoy! Happy GIMPing!

Hi. I wanted to let you know that I downloaded your brush tutorials. As you probably already know I make greyscale and RGB-alpha brushes all the time, but I always read new brush tutorials, so that I can improve on my brush making. I read your tutorial and I wanted to let you know that there were some very helpful tips. The two which I will be using are how to make a pipe brush which I kind of already had an idea of how to do, but it was all speculation. The other tip which I can wait to try is the Script-fu selection tool(s). I didn't know they exsisted and hadn't had a chance to play with them at all. Thanks for providing us with some great tutorials!
