October 5, 2008: I've modified the script to run in GIMP 2.6 (the newest stable version). It should work in 2.4, as well.
Let me know if you have any trouble with it. This GIMP script will create a satin texture based on the steps found in my tutorial here: [link] This script will NOT work in GIMP 2.2. You can find that one: [link] On an open image, just go to Filters > Render > Satin... and a window will appear allowing you to choose the color, the color depth, and color lightness. If you just leave the defaults, it will be the same "dark pink" color as described in the tutorial. Click on the Download link to get the text file and save it to your GIMP scripts folder (ie....C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.X\share\gimp\2.0\scripts) and then go to Xtns > Script-Fu > Refresh Scripts. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I apologize beforehand of being really stupid...but i cant find a way how to download the script. all i get is text when i click the button, not a savable (is that a word?) document.
